The Influential Women in Energy nomination program recognizes outstanding leaders across oil, gas and energy who are shaping the future of the industry. Now entering its tenth year, this annual recognition honors women who lead with vision, innovation and impact, mentoring others, driving change and advancing the energy sector.

Influential Women in Energy honors accomplished women who are making a lasting impact on the energy industry. Now in its tenth year, the program celebrates leaders across oil, gas and energy who are driving innovation, guiding teams through change and shaping the future of the industry.
Honorees are featured on HartEnergy.com and in Oil and Gas Investor, as well as recognized at a dedicated networking and awards event in Houston each spring.
When do nominations open for the Class of 2027?
Nominations will open in spring 2026. Details will be announced on this page and through Hart Energy’s newsletters and social media channels. You may also sign up here for notifications.
Who is eligible?
Nominees must:
Identify as women.
Work in or directly support the energy industry, including exploration and production, oilfield services, finance, law, investment, consulting, renewable energy, energy transition and related sectors.
Serve in a leadership, decision-making or strategic influence role within their organization.
There are no specific title or tenure requirements. Honorees are selected based on professional achievements, leadership, innovation, mentorship and contributions to advancing others in the energy industry.
May I nominate myself?
Yes, you may nominate yourself or someone else.
What information is required to submit a nomination?
The online nomination form requests information about both the nominator and the nominee. You’ll be asked to provide:
Nominator details: name, title, company, email, phone number and relationship to the nominee
Nominee details: name, title, company, email, phone number, company address and company website
Assistant contact (if applicable): name, email and phone number
You’ll also be asked to include details and materials that highlight the nominee’s achievements, such as:
Links to relevant articles or materials (optional)
A biography or resume (optional)
Comments describing why the nominee deserves recognition
Years of experience in the industry
Certifications, academic achievements, professional honors and community or volunteer involvement
How can I strengthen my nomination?
Focus on the nominee’s accomplishments, leadership qualities and impact within the energy industry. Include specific examples, such as major projects, innovations, deals, career milestones, awards or team leadership. Avoid general statements — clear, measurable achievements stand out.
May I nominate multiple people?
Yes, you may submit multiple nominations. Each nominee must be submitted separately using a new form.
Can someone be honored two years in a row?
No, Influential Women in Energy is a one-time recognition. Previous honorees are not eligible again.
How are honorees selected?
Hart Energy’s editorial team leads the selection process, with input from other Hart Energy team members. Selections are based on the nominee’s influence, innovation, leadership and commitment to advancing the energy industry and its future workforce.
When will honorees be notified?
Selected honorees will be contacted in fall 2026.
Will all nominees be contacted?
No, only selected honorees will be notified.
What happens if I'm selected?
Honorees will be featured on HartEnergy.com and in Oil and Gas Investor, as well as recognized at an event in spring 2027. They will be asked to complete a questionnaire and participate in a short interview to help shape their published profile.
